Conventional inspections require opening the hive, lifting frames, and disrupting the colony’s natural rhythm. They’re temperature-dependent, time-dependent, and physically demanding — for both beekeeper and bees.
Designed to pair seamlessly with the BeeVue HiveScope, it provides stable access to the brood chamber, enabling high-quality imaging across a broad area of comb — all while minimising disturbance to the colony.
The brush isn’t just a barrier. It’s a scaffold.
From the outset, it reduces heat loss and bee exit during inspection. Over time, the bees naturally deposit propolis around the internal fibres, sealing and adapting the interface as part of their own architecture. The result is a living boundary that improves with use.
For long-term hygiene, the brush can be refreshed when needed — a simple replacement designed to be carried out without opening the hive.
Numbered reference markings provide consistent insertion points for the HiveScope, allowing you to record exactly where you’ve observed changes over time.
Castellated 11-frame runners maintain reliable frame spacing, ensuring your reference points remain accurate from one inspection to the next.
A horizontal reference line on the opposing hive wall makes orientation intuitive every time. Combined with the HiveScope’s depth markers, it allows you to return to the same areas of comb and monitor subtle changes with confidence.
A locally sourced cedar cover shields the interface from the elements. It’s secured with a knurled, loss-prevention screw that’s easy to handle with gloved hands — and won’t disappear into the grass.
Discrete, mesh-covered ventilation holes allow moisture to escape while remaining small enough to prevent meaningful heat loss.
Built to National Brood Box dimensions with bottom bee space, the BeeVue Interface fits cleanly into existing National setups, requiring minimal change for you or your bees.
Compatible with both Standard (DN1) and Hoffman (DN4) British Standard brood frames.
WBC compatibility coming soon.
The BeeVue Interface was developed in collaboration with Stormguard, a family-run, UK-based company, drawing on their experience in precision brush and extrusion systems to manufacture a design intended to be completed by the bees themselves.
